Alarm & CCTV Service Engineer

Location: Based in or near to Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14, covering the South West

Salary: £30k p.a. (ote) depending on experience – salary includes weekly overtime and call-out revenue (rota system)

The role

Attending commercial sites in the south west to fault find, repair and service electronic Security Systems, CCTV, Door Access Control & Intruder Alarms. Electronic Gate & Barrier experience would also be advantageous.  Some installation work also forms part of a service engineers’ role.

This position will suit people who have either electrical or security system based knowledge along with a good understanding of software and networks.

Additional money can be earnt through overtime, on-call (rota system) and by passing on sales leads from customers, the more you can contribute to the role, the more you will earn.

Applicant attributes

Good customer facing skills and a smart appearance is a requirement and the ability to work alone as well as an active team member. You will need to be ambitious and conscientious and you will be rewarded with a varied and interesting career as a service engineer with a security company that is both expanding and progressive.

A driving licence is essential.

A current IPAF licence and ECS card is beneficial.

Trainee Assembly & Test Engineer (office based)

Location: Trowbridge

Salary: £22,880 per annum depending on relevant or transferrable skills and knowledge, reviewed after three months probation

AlertSystems currently have an opportunity for a full time Trainee Assembly & Test Engineer. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking person, interested in building a career in the Security Industry. On the job training will be provided. Experience of using Microsoft Outlook is advantageous.

The role

  • Assemble, wire, program and test integrated equipment e.g. CCTV Cameras, Access Control and Intruder Alarm Panels.
  • Evaluate, test and assess new and used equipment.
  • Using a scheduled database program, monitor and record equipment checks including PAT testing and meter calibrations.
  • Experience of soldering and using hand power tools is desirable as the role also includes drilling and cutting (using a jigsaw and reciprocating saw), grinding & painting metalwork (equipment bracketry).
  • Using PC software to remotely access customer sites, you will be trained to investigate and resolve false alarms using remote alarm panel diagnostic software.
  • Depending on desired future career progression and after training, provide remote support (telephone & PC based) for installation & service engineers covering a diverse range of electronic security products and systems.
