Why is a Service Contract important to you?
Even the most reliable and effective systems require maintenance from time to time.
There are several key reasons why a service contract is important and should not be ignored.
- Without effective maintenance even the best equipment will deteriorate.
- Preventative maintenance will give you confidence and peace of mind.
- Depending on your system type, regular maintenance schedules may well be a stipulation set out by your insurance company or by the Police. This will certainly be the case for all remote monitored installations.
- There are minimum requirements specified by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) regarding annual preventative maintenance visits for all systems as follows:
Intruder Alarms:
2 preventative maintenance visits a year for all systems.
CCTV & Access Control:
1 preventative maintenance visit per year.
- The Data Protection Act Code of Practice for CCTV (2000) also states that maintenance should be undertaken on a regular basis in order to ensure that clear images are recorded.
