Compatibility is one of the main features to look for in a security system, this is because of the fact that the field of security and alert systems is continuously evolving and every security and alert systems company are continuously developing their product. It is because of this continuous development of products and emergence of several companies developing their own line of security and alert systems products that there will be difficulties for a company to change brands of security devices because of compatibility issues. However, there are several security companies that are developing products that are compatible with other security devices or products that are developed by different security companies.

Samsung is one of those companies that are taking clients into consideration when developing or manufacturing their security devices such as CCTV cameras and DVRs. Samsung have announced that they have majority of their CCTV cameras and Digital Video Recorders are now compatible and integrated with the Sureview Immix control room automation. It is because of this integration that majority of Samsung CCTV cameras and DVRs can now give the installers and integrators to recommend Samsung products knowing that such products are now compatible with Immix equipped central stations. Immix is an automation software platform that was developed to monitor and control CCTV cameras and access control systems. Further, the Immix software platform has the ability to receive alarm events based on the capture video through video analytics. It is because of this features of the immix software that many security departments and companies are using the software to monitor the different security devices connected to it, this gives the security personnel to easily manage the network of security devices installed in the company premises. With the integration from Samsung clients can now enjoy the ease of use of the Immix software platform and the advance technology of Samsung security products.

Visual Monitoring Access Control System Through ACT Sitemaps

In the different technology driven devices there are always two components that are working together in order to execute their intended action and fulfill their intended purpose. In the field of security and alert systems the synergy between hardware and software must always be in sync with each other, examples of these are the CCTV camera systems which includes video analytics and video management software, Access control systems which includes control panel software and even intruder alarm systems which includes firmware and a software to control the functions of the device. Indeed, the need for a software for the hardware device is necessary in order to allow the whole security device to function.

Following this premise on software-hardware synergy Access Control Technology has released its ACTWin 2.7 with ACT Sitemaps. The ACTWin is a software that enables security personnel to control and manage the different access control systems installed within it’s scope or area. The Software comes with the sitemap feature which allows security personnel to visually monitor events on the site where access controls are installed as they happen. The normal door events and even the alarms are being monitored by the software and that even a common even such as accessing the door through the access control system is going to be recorded by ACTWin’s sitemap features. To make the most recent events to be readily seen by operators or security personnel such recent events are going to be highlighted and shown in the recent events panel’s list.

The Sitemap feature is very easy to use as it only require the operator or user to import a visual layout of the building or area that is going to be monitored, after which the user will just allocate access control points allowing the user to further incorporate input/output modules to the appropriate locations through the drag and drop function.

In addition to this feature the ACTWin 2.7 software is also equipped with the glass-break feature and that it functions to report to the user if the glass-break device has been activated. The integration of this software would truly make it easy for users and security personnel to monitor the access control system of a company.
