GJD Contributes to Decline in False Alarms

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Triggering a false alarm with your security system is not only a nuisance to the neighbors but also to the client and even to those who are monitoring security alarms or devices. Nuisance alarms are brought about by intruder alarm systems being triggered by factors other than those intended for its use. For example the alarm was triggered by the client himself or herself because he or she was unable to deactivate such device when he or she enters his or her home, it is because of these that the response team of the authorities would also be alerted and will interpret it as a breach of security and this would then cause inconveniences to the authorities and the client alike. There may also be instances when the security system is going to be breached or activated by wildlife or forces of nature and even the clients’ own pet, making it more inconvenient for the authorities’ response team.

It is because of such problems that the Advanced Independent Monitoring group have conducted several tests in order to find out which strategy would best solve the said problem on false alarm. The group have utilised several types of CCTV camera detectors which includes the GJD D-Tect3. The CCTV camera detectors are security devices that functions as a CCTV camera but it’s functionality is being triggered. This means that the CCTV camera will only function or activated if a condition or a trigger is also activated. This would mean therefore that the response team will first be able to see whether the alarm is being triggered by unscrupulous people or not. The CCTV camera detectors are always coupled with the intruder alarm systems which would work together as  a dual technology security system. As a result of the test conducted it was found out that False alarms were reduced by eighty-five percent (85%).
