Honeywell Introduces New Intruder Alarm Device

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Continuous research and development endeavors have made security and surveillance devices what they are now, functioning more efficiently and giving the best output and results. It can be remembered that during the inception or introduction of the CCTV camera system to the world it only produces grainy and low-quality videos but now it can provide you with high definition output or video. In the field of intruder alarm system there were also several innovations and one of the forerunners in this technology is the Honeywell systems. Recently the Honeywell systems company has released their latest in intruder alarm system the Viewguard mirror optic motion sensors. This cutting edge motion sensor technology from Honeywell is combined with the usual reliability and outstanding performance in motion technology to make the device an ultimate motion sensor device. The Viewguard motion sensor is designed to provide security especially on establishments such as banks, casinos, museums and even jewelers. This high-end motion sensor technology or device is designed in such a way that it will provide an intruder alarm system for its clients.

The Viewguard mirror optics provides an excellent signal strength that will provide clients an efficient and excellent detection levels, this type of design have made it a device that can offer total protection. The Viewguard is also equipped with infrared signal processing technology which is helpful in minimising false alarms and annoying interruptions for both the installers and the client, truly making the device to be worthy of being considered as a cost-efficient and easy to install intruder alarm system. The latter is a fact because the Viewguard is designed to be following the plug in concept and that is provides an abundance of wiring space. Further, the Viewguard is cost-efficient because of the fact that it is designed to function on low current consumption with the ability to reduce false alarms and not to mention being equipped with an elegant housing enclosure, these characteristics by the Viewguard system has made it the popular choice of security systems companies.

If you think those features are enough to convince you to changing your existing intruder alarm system to Viewguard, well there’s more. The Viewguard is also equipped with features such as anti-masking and multiple level threshold which will ensure the client total accurate protection even if it is installed in the most sensitive of environments. To put the features in perspective the multiple level threshold feature of the Viewguard is utilised to accurately and quickly identify any intrusion by using signal strength for identification, which will also in effect reduce false alarms because only when the signal is strong it is where the intruder alarm system is then activated. The viewguard is also equipped with two infra red circuits which protects the device from outside manipulation and control. The first infrared circuit protects the sensor from taping, spraying or any other act to block the system while the other sensor protects the system from any close range blocking that is to be done by some unscrupulous people who wants to by-pass the system.

Research Center for Secure Information Technology Established

For a long time now companies developing security and surveillance devices have been the forerunner in the field of not only developing such devices but also researching a more advanced technology that will improve the current security and surveillance system. For example a CCTV camera system has undergone numerous development from showing a pixilated or unclear image or video when blown up to showing a video output in High definition. The CCTV camera has also undergone several changes like incorporating the said system with a computer program in order to analyse the video further for making better decisions regarding security concerns. The incorporation of the biometrics technology to access control systems is also one of the many developments that were done due to extensive research, now there is no need for an ID card or a keycard before one can access a specific room or area within the building, rather there will only be the use of the person’s body parts such as the pupil of the eyes or the fingerprint which will serve as identification that will determine whether access will be granted or not. Truly, research has done so much in the field of developing the different security devices and security technology in general.

Recognising the effects and benefits of research in the development of security and surveillance devices the UK cyber center was launched. The UK cyber center was organised in order to research on different technologies involving security and surveillance both in the development of security applications or software and the development of security devices and systems. The UK cyber center will particularly focus on developing ultra fast processors to enable better and secured internet surfing, developing a sophisticated analysis program or application that when installed with CCTV camera systems will enable it to better survey and secure public transport areas. These in addition to researching on producing better anti-virus systems that will provide the best security for enterprise class computer systems. The UK cyber center aptly named as the Center for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) is a £25 Million project that was established by numerous partner organizations spearheaded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Technology Strategy Board and the Queen’s University Belfast. The formation of the CSIT is one of the most remarkable process of organising a group  that is founded by several and may be competing companies, but because of their common goal these companies have pitched in their services and expertise in order to help build the CSIT and help them reach their goal for the ultimate benefit of such companies.

Bringing in the different technologies and expertise of different companies have only one mindset and that is to pioneer on the concept of converged security which is utilising IT systems from each contributing company along with their expertise on different areas such as in network security, data security, wireless enabled network systems, and surveillance intelligence system. The convergence of these technologies has for its aim to protect the systems as well as equally protect the public in general.
